Taiwan Day four (5/23)

Today (5/23), I started the morning off with a walk with Kyla, Malli, Mikey, and myself. We walked alongside the river and spotted a lot of different animals (fish, birds, turtles). We walked about 3 miles down the river before crossing back over into the city. We are breakfast at this traditional ‘hole in the wall’ restaurant, where the cook gave us a bunch of different dishes to try. I thought all of the food was really good and I’m glad we decided to stop there and eat.

Here are some different views and the breakfast that we tried. After breakfast, we walked around to meet Jenn and headed one stop back on the green line. We walked around for a little longer before deciding to head back to the hotel.

We departed the hotel around 1 to head to a computer/hardwear conference where we met GigaByte technology

While it was crowded, I though that the information that we recieved from this company was super informative. It was a lot different then the type of things I learn in class, since I am a computer science major, but I thought it was interesting to see how the concepts I know about can be applied in different ways. It was also interesting to see how there were so many different types of cooling systems for computer centers and to hear the pros and the cons of each.

We finally ended out day with some shrimp fishing.

Fishing for shrimp was a cool experience, but I was not a fan of the way that we had to kill and then cook them. It didn’t seem instantaneous and thus the shrimp was still alive for part of it, which made me feel bad. Overall, the whole experience was interesting and I wouldn’t want to change it.
