Day 2 Highlights {5/21}

Hey hey, I’m back again!

This time, I’ll be sharing a bit about my day 2 here in Taiwan. We kicked off the day at a decent hour, around 8 AM. Before anything else, of course, came breakfast. Gotta fuel up before a day of exploring and learning!

After breakfast was our first official company visit (and the first one of the entire trip) was to The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT). Let me just say, what a way to start.

The visit really set the tone for what’s to come on this journey. The meeting was both informational and intentional. The speakers were excellent, and the insight they provided gave a clear picture of who they are and what they do. I’ve never learned as much about the interconnected commercial relations between the U.S. and Taiwan as I did during that session. Super eye-opening.

Next up, was our second and final company visit of the day, SCM Solutions. But before that, we had a bit of downtime, so naturally… we went to a food court.

You know I had to try something new. I went with beef udon, shrimp tempura, and lemon jasmine tea, and yes, it was as good as it sounds.

When it was time, we made our way to SCM. Once again, another super informative visit. I learned a lot about the supply chain process, especially how it plays out for small businesses. The behind-the-scenes of how products and materials move around, it’s way more complex (and interesting) than I expected.

After wrapping up our business visits for the day, it was time to switch gears. We headed back to the hotel for a bit, and then… it was time to let loose a little. A few friends and I made our way over to Songshan, where we got to experience the famous night market.

Fun, fun, fun! And so delicious. There was so much to see, eat, and take in. I had a really great time and am quite excited to see what else Taiwan has to offer after such an amazing experience.

As we started winding down for the night, we made our way back to the hotel. But before officially calling it a day, a friend and I stopped to check out a smaller market we had passed on our way to the train. Just a quick stop, but still super fun.

And with that, Day 2 came to a close.
It was packed, exciting, and definitely a little exhausting, but all worth it.

I’ll be keeping up with these updates, so stay tuned.

Talk to you soon, Bye!
