Day 7: Printing and Night Markets with Jennifer and Hanna

We went to a small printing company to learn more about the manufacturing process here in Taiwan. This company had a relatively small employee count as most of their manufacturing process was done by machines. They showed off some of their work and how it was done through automation. I actually knew some of the works they were printing as popular manga (Japanese comics) and anime (Black Butler and Call of the Night). Such a small factory had major outlets wanting to print from them in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and some personal orders from the US. They even manufactured a Bucknell University sign for us as we were leaving, which was very nice of them.

Afterwards we stopped at a market that was next to a relatively popular temple. This temple was known for their success in love pairing and giving people that went their success in their love journey as the god of the temple is related to love. I eventually gave a couple of prayers to the temple after learning about this and I explored the market area for some food with Joelle. The area seemed to be mostly for clothing and apparel, which was fine as I bought two types of purses; one was a coin purse for all the coins I have from different countries and a bigger but not large purse for my mom when I go back to America.

We gave our suitcases and luggage to the bus driver after we left the market and I decided to explore one more night market for some rice with Jennifer and Hannah. They got their favorite scallion pancakes and I eventually found some fried pork with rice near our hotel. I travelled to Joelle and Eileen’s room to chat and drink and we all went ot bed afterwards for the early morning we were going to have.
