This opera house was pretty interesting because throughout the basic structure of the building the building there is no straight lines which made for a cave like interior which I guess would be good for opera singing and what not. I was a little disappointed that we could not actually take a look into where the performance take place but the many of the assessable areas where still cool to see.
After the opera house we made our way over to a historical part of Taizhong where a lot of buildings where preserved. Here we got to sample some local food despite being told foreigners often do not like it. We also got to see a couple of smaller temples on the way over to the larger temple in the area.
When we arrived at the intended destination of the temple we where told that this temple is quite special because it has not changed very much since it was built a couple hundred years ago. This is evident with some of the faded of certain paintings and carvings as well as the build up of soot from incense burning in one part of the temple. Here we took part in some of the rituals and even blessed a calligraphy in hope of some good grades.
