Day 13 was more of a solo adventure for me, but we started with a group cooking course. We were making rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. I don’t cook, so I had my work cut out for me, but I still had a great time. Our instructor was very friendly and even made us boba from scratch. It was a good way to start the day. We had free time for the rest of the day, so I took the opportunity to visit the Taipei Zoo. All the animals in the zoo seemed to be well cared for, and Taipei is one of the few zoos in the world that can house and breed pandas. As an animal behavior major, this made me feel like a kid again, getting to walk around to see and read about all the different animals they had. I spent 3 hours at the zoo and got to see bears and lions. Elephants and a reptile house. All of this was priced at about $3, so it was a worthwhile investment, both in terms of money and time.
