Goals:
My main goal is for this trip to be a chance for all of us to think deeply about the world, connect with new perspectives, and reflect on our academic and personal journeys. Taiwan’s rich blend of culture, religion, and business creates a unique learning environment. I encourage you to engage fully, ask questions, and stay curious about everything and everyone we encounter. This trip will also be a learning experience for me, as it is my first time leading a group of students on an international excursion. Fortunately, Professor Young will be co-leading the program with me, which is a great source of support and reassurance.
Concerns:
At the same time, I recognize that no trip ever goes exactly as planned. As a first-time program co-director, I feel a strong sense of responsibility to ensure a smooth experience, while also understanding that flexibility will be key. Small changes or unexpected challenges are inevitable. I hope we can approach these moments together with patience, positivity, and teamwork. Some of the best memories often come from the unexpected.
Thank you for being part of this special experience. I am excited to see how we grow individually and as a group throughout our time in Taiwan.
